Counter-ISIS Campaign (Iraq/Syria) Significant Activities “SIGACTs”

Throughout the Counter-ISIS Campaign in Iraq/Syria, international and local security forces maintained records of “significant activities” (SIGACTs).

During “Operation Inherent Resolve” in Iraq and Syria, US and partner forces collected data pertaining to bombings and other violent wartime activities. Collectively, the released data track approximately 7,808 individual instances of bombings and close air support in which U.S. forces engaged using bombs, which were then georeferenced and time stamped. Data covers the period of February 2016 through mid-March 2017. (Please contact Dr. Shaver for access to the processed data.)
